The Process

Every piece begins as a simple piece of leather.

Patience, precision, and time are what transform it into something worth carrying.

Every piece begins the same way.

With a blank piece of leather and the quiet promise that, with enough patience, it can become something worth carrying.

I don't rush the process because the process becomes part of the finished piece. Every cut, every stitch, and every burnished edge leaves behind evidence that someone chose to slow down and make something by hand.

There are faster ways to make leather goods. Machines can cut quicker, sew straighter, and produce more in a day than I could in a month. That's never been the goal.

I enjoy the rhythm of the work. Measuring twice before making the first cut. Pulling every stitch by hand. Watching rough edges become smooth beneath a burnisher. Those quiet moments aren't simply steps in the process. They are the process.

By the time a piece leaves my workshop, it has already passed through hours of careful attention, countless small decisions, and hands that refused to rush

Every stitch is a quiet decision to take the slower road.

From there, the story is no longer mine to write.
